Dionex Softron GmbH a part of Thermi Fisher Scientific Milestones:

1978 – Formation of Gynkotek GmbH, a producer of instruments for high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). A milestone during the first few years was the invention of the patented isokinetic pre‑compression of eluents in HPLC pumps.

1983 – Formation of Softron GmbH, a company providing customized software development services in the fields of telecommunications, CTI, and chemical information engineering.

1990 –Gynkotek is taken over by Softron GmbH. This acquisition allows for further development of hardware and software products for liquid chromatography.

1993 – Introduction of a diode array detector fully controllable by the world’s first 32-bit chromatography data system.

1995 – First grant of DIN EN ISO 9001 Certification.

1996 – Release of the first version of the Chromeleon™ data system.

1996 – Softron moves into its own production site at the present-day location.

1998 – Softron is acquired by Dionex Corp. / US. All liquid chromatography (HPLC) related production and development activities are retained. Other fields of activity are split off.

1999 – Market launch of the Summit™ HPLC product line.

2001 – Expansion of the company premises.

2002 – Chromeleon™ 6.50 meets the requirements of FDA rule 21 CFR Part 11 (Electronic records and signatures handling).

2005 – Dionex meets the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley-Act, Section 404.

2005 – Introduction of the new UltiMate™ 3000 nano product line.

2006 – Company premises are expanded again due to constantly increasing sales and the fast-growing number of staff.

2006 – The successful Summit™ system is replaced by the new UltiMate 3000 product line, which covers HPLC applications from nano to semi-preparative HPLC.

2008 – Introduction of the unrivaled UltiMate 3000 Rapid Separation LC System for ultrahigh separation performance and ultrafast analyses (Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography, UHPLC) through a combination of high system pressure and an eluent flow of up to 5 mL/min.

2009 – Introduction of Chromeleon™ 7, the next generation of industry-leading chromatography data system from Dionex. Using Operational Simplicty™ Chromeleon™ 7 defines a new standard in usability.

2009 – Introduction of the industry-leading UltiMate 3000 RSLC nano system featuring continuous direct flow from 20 nL/min to 50 uL/min at column pressures up to 800 bar. The RSLCnano provides ultimate performance and flexibility for proteomics and similar research areas.

2010 – Implementation of an Environmental Management System and first grant of DIN EN ISO 14001 certification. Recertification of DIN EN ISO 9001:2008.

2010 – Dionex is the first to introduce UHPLC compatibility across the entire range of HPLC products, including the basic automatic and standard systems. In addition, the UltiMate 3000 RSLC systems offer the widest UHPLC operational range (up to 1000 bar and up to 8 mL/min) on the UHPLC market.

2011 – On May 17, 2011 Dionex Softron Corporation became part of Thermo Fisher Scientific.

2012 – Company premises are expanded once more due to constantly increasing sales and the fast-growing number of staff.
